The Kirène Group has innovated by investing in the development of local products such as bissap (hibiscus) and milk, trying to be present on the whole value chain, from producer to consumer.
In the land of Teranga, the best discussions take place over a glass of bissap. Presséa promotes the Bissap industry by collecting more than 6 tons of hibiscus flowers every year thanks to women’s groups in the Kaolack region. An entire sector is benefiting from this initiative, allowing producers to enhance their ancestral heritage.
Here, the shepherds consider that good milk also depends on the love that one gives to one’s cows.
Candia GrandLait contains milk from Senegalese farms from the Fatick collection center set up by Groupe Kirène in partnership with the Ministry of Livestock since 2014, inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Macky Sall, President of the Republic. Groupe Kirène is a major player in the development of the milk sector in Senegal and strongly encourages the collection of local milk from the country’s producers.
Also, since 2018, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank, a vast program has been put in place, aimed at further structuring the milk sector, securing the supply of milk by Senegalese farmers, increasing the volume of local milk collected and improving the quality of milk collected which is then incorporated into milk Candia.
